Halloween Dessert! Mummy Cookies

Mummy cookies are a delicious and fun idea to celebrate Halloween. Make them together with your children: they will give a "witty" touch to your party or they will be the perfect placeholders for your family dinners during the bridge.

Ingredients (For about 15 filled biscuits)

  • For the pastry:

- 300g of flour 00
- 100g of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 150g of cold butter
- 2 egg yolks

  • For the filling and decoration:

- Zuegg Strawberry extra jam
- White sugar paste
- Eye candy: Icing made with water and powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. In the bowl of the planetary mixer, place the flour, the icing sugar, the vanilla extract and the butter into chunks. With the whisk K make the mixture sandblast, then add the egg yolks and knead until a compact dough is formed. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  2. On a lightly floured pastry board, roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick and make about 30 cookies in the shape of a little man. Arrange the biscuits on plates lined with baking paper. On some of them you can make small "bite" effect engravings.
  3. Bake at 180 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from the oven as soon as they acquire a slightly golden color on the edges. Let it cool down.
  4. Fill the biscuits with the strawberry jam and add them two by two.
  5. With a little icing made with powdered sugar and water, attach the eyes to each little man.
  6. Roll out a piece of white sugar paste into a long, narrow strip. Cut it into thin strips and wrap them around each little man to create the "mummy" effect.
  7. Serve immediately.
